RITC Service Day Recap

The first annual Rangers in the Community (RITC) community service day on September 21 was a success. Cherokee Main Street and the Northwestern Foundation & Alumni Association teamed up to put the shine on downtown Cherokee, Okla.

Northwestern students, employees and alumni joined Cherokee community members to clean the curbs along Grand Avenue, decorate for fall and clean the Alfalfa County Historical Society Museum.

“The Northwestern Alumni collaborative Rangers In The Community event with the Cherokee Main Street, its volunteer base and the City of Cherokee, proved to be a great success,” said Schaun Aker, Director, Cherokee Main Street. “As this event formulated and came together, the volunteers brought the vision of community to the highest level. As they worked side by side, though somewhat strangers, all became colleagues who accomplished the mission at hand. Thank you Northwestern Foundation & Alumni Association for this opportunity.”
