Investment Opportunities with Real Estate

ALVA, Okla. (May 30, 2018)-- This year marks the 125th anniversary of the opening of the Cherokee Outlet with the great Land Run of 1893, where more than 100,000 men and women would line up along the Kansas border and the southern boundary of the outlet and at high noon begin the run for their claim. They were a diverse mix of people, leaving the safety of their homes and family, and facing severe privation. They ran the race with a focus on the new opportunity where the land would provide value and security.

Real estate still provides that same opportunity today. It may be the shelter of our home or apartment, the site for our retail buildings and offices, and for many it remains the agricultural endeavor of farming and ranching.

As an investment, commercial real estate typically provides a stable return and the ability to depreciate the assets to lessen tax liability. Obtaining a Cost Segregation analysis can further identify the various categories of depreciation that the IRS allows for each component.

Values of real estate can certainly fluctuate in relation to economic trends, but historically it has been a sector that has experienced growth. Before a purchase, always seek the confidential input from a professional familiar with the market, but be open to the benefits of real estate ownership.
