Burlington High School graduates benefit from the Kent and Darcy Kisling Scholarship

ALVA, Okla. (Feb. 19, 2018)— The Kent and Darcy Kisling Scholarship was established in 2017 to provide financial assistance to Burlington (Okla.) High School graduates attending Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

Kent, a 1974 graduate with a degree in agriculture business, came to Northwestern because it was close to home and he could return there on the weekends. He participated on the judging team and played tennis during his years at Northwestern.

Kent hoped to return to the farm following graduation but wanted to ensure his studies gave him something he could utilize wherever his path took him.

The Kislings witnessed the support their family received while pursuing an education at Northwestern. In return, Kent and Darcy began this scholarship to give back to the University.

Those applying for the Kent and Darcy Kisling Scholarship must be continuing students, as well as a Burlington High School graduate with a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average. To be considered, students must complete the scholarship application form through the Financial Aid Office on any Northwestern campus. The scholarship may be applied toward university-related expenses, including tuition, fees, books and room and board.
