Bruno Miguel Excels

Bruno Miguel excels at computers. Originally from Sao Paulo, Brazil, Bruno came to Northwestern after he was a high school exchange student in Mooreland, Okla. Fluent in three languages – Portuguese, English and Spanish – Bruno could be considered quadrilingual if he includes computer languages.

At only 15, Bruno started creating and designing his own video games. He sold them to friends, making enough money from his first game to pay for a trip to Disney World. While at Northwestern, he gained more opportunities. As a Computer Science major, he created a mobile app for Oklahoma Research Day, built a database for Northwestern’s English department, and created a website for the Alva Kiwanis organization.

He also was a member of the Game Programming Team at Northwestern. The team won the first place trophy at the Tulsa Heartland Gaming Competition in 2016, and second place in 2017. Bruno’s personal video game won second place People’s Choice in 2017.

Bruno graduated with his master’s degree in Computer Science in November 2019 from the Technical University of Munich.
