The Northwestern Oklahoma State University Foundation, Inc. was founded in 1959 for the purpose of receiving, investing, and ultimately distributing scholarships and awards for the enhancement and support of Northwestern Oklahoma State University, a member institution of the Regional University System of Oklahoma.
In 1984, the Foundation reorganized and since that time has experienced tremendous growth and development. A nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization as determined by the Internal Revenue Service, the Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees composed of supportive alumni, the president of Northwestern and area civic leaders.
In addition to providing financial support to the university, the Foundation houses the Northwestern Oklahoma State University Alumni Association, which serves to further the interests of the university by building and maintaining relationships with alumni, former students, faculty and staff, and friends of the university.
With a staff of eight full-time employees, the Northwestern Foundation and Alumni Association operates independently from the university and is audited annually by a third-party auditing firm. Located on the university’s Alva, Oklahoma, campus, the Foundation and Alumni Association is committed to providing Northwestern Oklahoma State University the resources required to thrive in a competitive collegiate environment while promoting the interests of the university and perpetuating good fellowship among its students, former students and friends.
